Editvya for Android — Privacy Policy

Editvya is a video editor that works on your phone. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. In short: your videos, photos and sound stay on your phone. We have no accounts, no analytics and no ads, and we do not collect personal data.

What stays on your phone

Your media. Videos, photos, music and voice recordings you add are read from your phone's storage. Editing, the AI tools (auto captions, silence cut, beat sync, highlights) and export all run on the phone. Your media is never uploaded by Editvya.
Your projects. Each project (the list of clips, trims, text, captions and settings) is saved as a file in Editvya's private storage on the phone. Projects refer to your media; they do not copy it.
Exported videos are saved to your gallery (Movies/Editvya). You decide whether to share them, using Android's own share sheet.
Voice-overs, if you record one, are recorded with the microphone only while you press record, and saved on the phone. Editvya asks for microphone permission the first time you use that tool.
Free-plan counters. Editvya counts, on the phone, how many times a month you used each on-device AI tool, so the free monthly allowance can be applied. The count never leaves the phone.

When Editvya uses the internet

Editvya connects to the internet only for these things:

1. Downloading speech models for auto captions (English or Hindi, about 40 MB each), the first time you make captions in that language. They come from the Vosk project's server (alphacephei.com). Like any download, that server sees your device's IP address and the file requested. No audio or other data is sent. 2. Downloading asset packs (effects, stickers, music, fonts, templates) that you choose in the library. The server that hosts them sees your IP address and which pack was requested. No other data is sent. 3. Google Play purchases of Editvya Pro. Purchases, renewals and cancellations are handled entirely by Google Play. We receive from Google Play only what is needed to know whether your subscription is active (a purchase token and its state); we never see your payment details. What we do not do

No account or sign-in.
No analytics, tracking, advertising IDs or ads. No advertising or analytics code is included in the app.
We do not sell or share personal data with anyone.

Information handled by Google

Google Play processes your purchases and may show crash and performance statistics ("Android vitals") to us in an aggregated, anonymous form if you have allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics with Google.
Android backup. If you have turned on backup for your phone, Android may include Editvya's project files and settings in your own Google account backup. Speech models and asset packs are excluded. This backup is handled by Android and Google, not by us, and we cannot access it.

Storage (Android 8–9 only) · Saving exported videos to your gallery on those Android versions; asked for when you export.

Microphone · Recording a voice-over, only while you record; asked for the first time you use it.

Google Play billing · Buying and restoring Editvya Pro.

Deleting your data

Everything Editvya keeps is on your phone. Delete a project from the home screen, remove downloads in Settings → Downloads and storage, or uninstall the app to remove all of it. Exported videos stay in your gallery until you delete them. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

Children

Editvya is a general-audience creative tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date, before an app version that needs it is released.
